From your sketch

Do you have an idea for an illustration that you’d like? Can you sketch it out?

A simple drawing or even a stick-man of your idea is all I need.  I will do the rest!

Here’s what I would need from you:

  1. Send me your sketched idea.
  2. If it is about real people, then it would help if you could send me a photo of the people involved.
  3. Give me any other useful information – for example, what is the illustration going to be used for? Do you want the characters wearing any particular clothes?

Here’s what I’ll do:

  1. I’ll draw up your illustration, and send it to you in a draft version.
  2. I will make up to two revisions based on your feedback.
  3. I will then send you the final version.

From a story

Do you have a favourite story that needs pictures?

Or a family in-joke – perhaps you’d like to turn it into a birthday card for a family member?

Or perhaps you’re writing a book and you’d like it illustrated.

Here’s what I would need from you:

  1. Send me your story.
  2. If it is about real people, then it would help if you could send me a photo of the people involved.
  3. Give me any other useful information – for example, do you want the illustration to include the family pet? Or should the people be eating off green plates?

Here’s what I’ll do:

  1. I’ll draw up your illustration, and send it to you in a draft version.
  2. I will make up to two revisions based on your feedback.
  3. I will then send you the final version.

From reference images or photos

Do you want an illustration that is based on an actual photograph?

For example:

  • a drawing of the church where you got married
  • a drawing of your first car
  • a drawing of a favourite city skyline

Here’s what I would need from you:

  1. Send me your reference photograph(s).
  2. Give me any other useful information – for example, do you want a background colour? Is there any particular feature you want highlighted or removed?

Here’s what I’ll do:

  1. I’ll draw up your illustration, and send it to you in a draft version.
  2. I will make up to two revisions based on your feedback.
  3. I will then send you the final version.
